This 1964 BJ8 Austin Healey is a rare factory 'transition' model featuring technical details from both the earlier BJ7 and the BJ8. This includes BJ7 door handles, with BJ8 dashboard and central arm rest.

 

Only 1000 examples of this model left the factory, of which only 200 examples were sold in Europe, the remaining 800 exported to the USA.

This one-owner car is an original French market example, sold new from Bordeaux to the current owner in May 1964.

 

This rare matching numbers and matching colours example is in true 'time warp' condition, having never been restored, even retaining the original Bordeaux 'Stewart Arden' dealership rear window sticker. Exterior is finished in the desirable Healey light blue, over original blue leather interior, with original soft top hood in blue.  The car benefits from a recent mechanical overhaul, with all mechanical aspects in excellent working order, providing pleasant and flexible road use.
